In an era where the business environment is constantly changing, it goes without saying that people are the most critical factor for achieving sustainable corporate growth. Our Management Markers, a framework for embodying our Management Principle of “Contributing to International Society and Continuously Increasing Our Contribution,” identify people as our most important management resource. By placing the highest value on our people, we empower and encourage them to realize their potential and contribute to society.
To realize our goal of enhancing corporate value under Management Plan 2030, we recognize the need to proactively invest in human capital who are closely aligned with our business strategies. We will continue to strengthen our recruitment and development efforts, and our other human capital initiatives. We also aim to fully harness the diverse values and experiences of our employees by providing career opportunities that enable each individual to demonstrate their individuality and let their own flowers bloom. By cultivating a supportive workplace environment, we will come together as one team to further enhance our corporate value.
Approach to Human Capital
Mabuchi Motor's Approach to Human Capital

1. Human Resource Development Policy
Recruitment and Promotion
Our company believes that fostering an environment where diverse talents can challenge and inspire one another promotes the creation of new value. Based on our business concept (e-MOTO), we actively carry out recruitment activities to hire and appoint individuals who can bring about global change, unrestricted by existing frameworks. We value individuals for who they are, regardless of age, gender, nationality, race, disability status, or other differences, and we recruit them based on their merits without distinction between new graduates and experienced professionals.
Entrenchment of the Management Principle and Strategic Vision
Our company aims to achieve both the realization of our management principle and the goals outlined in our Management Plan 2030 by fostering a sense of unity among all employees as we work together to address various social challenges. To this end, we strive to instill our strategic vision and initiatives across all group employees. For the dissemination of management strategies and policies, we provide opportunities for direct communication between management and employees through company-wide policy briefings and divisional/business unit strategy presentations. Additionally, with regard to our management principle, the Mabuchi Learning Institute (MLI), which oversees education, conducts training programs on the principle. As part of a group-wide effort, we also distribute a leaflet summarizing the life stories of our founders, Kenichi and Takaichi MABUCHI, in an accessible manner. This initiative aims to share the founders' aspirations that led to the establishment of our management principle with all employees across the group.
Talent Development
Our company is committed to continuously developing management personnel who can excel globally, as well as highly specialized professionals, not only among our headquarters employees but also among employees of our domestic and international group companies. To achieve this, we actively promote cross-border talent exchange (rotation) and conduct training programs based on our unique educational framework, led by MLI. By utilizing MLI's online learning platform to establish a global educational environment, we aim to foster a learning-oriented organizational culture, accelerate the development of specialists through enhanced expertise and technical skills, and build a system that enables the entire Mabuchi Group to acquire broader and deeper knowledge.
Optimal Talent Placement
Our company has created an environment where any employee with ambition can seize opportunities through a true merit-based system for appointing executives, regardless of age or years of service. This is complemented by a dual-track personnel system, deeper career development initiatives, and a self-declaration system. We will further strengthen mechanisms that enable employees to build careers aligned with their aptitudes and aspirations, while achieving optimal placement of talent on a global scale, ensuring that individuals with the necessary experience and skills are positioned where they can thrive.
Evaluation and Compensation
Our personnel evaluation and compensation system is designed to accurately recognize the contributions of each employee who fulfills a variety of roles, fostering mutual growth between employees and the company, while fairly and equitably rewarding employees for their efforts. For management and specialized positions, we have implemented a personnel treatment system where compensation is determined by the scope of roles, responsibilities, and achievements, irrespective of age, years of service, or other personal attributes. Additionally, for general headquarters employees and some group company employees, we have introduced a job-based personnel system that ensures the accurate assessment of each employee's contributions and enables evaluations and treatments based on their roles and performance. By clearly communicating these systems and frameworks to employees, we enable them to understand the connection between the company’s policies and their own roles. Furthermore, through the visualization of the experiences and skills needed for self-fulfillment, we aim to implement a treatment system that allows employees to achieve their desired career paths.
2. Internal Environmental Improvement Policy
Mental and Physical Health
As part of our core management markers, we are committed to "Through our corporate activities we protect our planet’s ecosystem and the health of its inhabitant." With this commitment, including at our overseas locations, we respect the fundamental rights of our employees and actively work to create workplaces where every employee can work healthily and safely with peace of mind. We believe that ensuring the health and well-being of our employees is the foundation of social life and contributes to enhancing corporate vitality. In October 2021, we announced the "Mabuchi Motor Health Management Declaration." Under this declaration, we will continue to support the health promotion of our employees and further advance our health management initiatives.
Increasing Employee Engagement
We believe that for a company to grow, it is essential to foster a sense of "job satisfaction," where employees can feel fulfillment and personal growth through their work, as well as to continuously improve "workplace comfort," which includes enhancing working conditions and the work environment. Through these efforts, we aim to achieve both improved employee engagement and increased productivity. To measure the effectiveness of these initiatives, we regularly conduct employee engagement surveys to identify and analyze trends. While these surveys have so far focused on our headquarters and technical research facilities, we plan to expand the scope to a global level starting in fiscal year 2025, encompassing the entire Mabuchi Group. Based on the data obtained from these surveys, we will implement improvements and further strengthen our activities to enhance both job satisfaction and workplace comfort for employees.
Work-Life Balance
Our company is committed to increasing workstyle options for employees and supporting the realization of work arrangements that suit their individual circumstances. By doing so, we aim to enhance overall productivity and create added value across the organization. To achieve this, we strive to accurately understand changes in societal environments and people's mindsets. At the same time, we are implementing various personnel systems and creating an environment that accommodates diverse lifestyles, enabling employees to maintain a balance between their personal lives and work while continuing to work vibrantly and with enthusiasm.
Corporate Culture and Climate
Our company believes that achieving the goals of Management Plan 2030 requires an even greater focus on fostering a corporate culture that encourages proactive employee engagement and drives innovation. We recognize that bringing together employees with diverse backgrounds and perspectives leads to the generation of new ideas, enables us to approach a broader range of customers, and contributes to solving various social challenges. To realize this vision, we are promoting a shared understanding within the organization of D&I (Diversity and Inclusion) initiatives, aiming to build a corporate culture that enhances creativity and accelerates innovation through global collaboration among diverse employees across our domestic and international group companies.
Furthermore, we emphasize employee autonomy and are committed to cultivating a corporate culture that warmly "supports" challenges at every level of the organization. To encourage this, we have established several recognition programs: the "Good Idea Award," which honors employees who achieve results through unique and exceptional ideas that others might not have considered; the "Nice Try Award," which recognizes employees who take on highly challenging tasks regardless of the outcome; and the "Mabuchi Way Award," which celebrates employees who embody our "Action Guidelines" and serve as role models in achieving our management vision. We will continue to deepen and expand these initiatives, fostering a culture where innovation and proactive contributions thrive.
